About This Ride
What makes this route special
A one-way crossing from the Kashmir Valley to Himachal Pradesh through the heart of Ladakh — this is the kind of ride people write books about. You start in Srinagar with shikaras and chinar trees, cross through Kargil (a town that has heard actual artillery fire), and arrive in Leh for the acclimatisation you'll badly need before pushing east to Hanle and up to Umling La. After the world's highest road, you loop back west and begin the long southern run down the Manali-Leh Highway — passing through four consecutive 16,000+ ft passes in a single day at one point. The finish at Manali feels like landing.
